All classes are 55 minutes.
All courses are offered as a 12 week session except where noted otherwise
One class per week for spring session: $168
Two classes per week for spring session: $299
Private lessons are $45 per 40 minute session. $65 per 60 minute session.
If you miss a class, feel free to come to another class of approximately the same level. All make up classes must be taken within the winter session. Make ups cannot be carried over into the next session
 
Classes are also taught at the Glens Falls YMCA Thursdays at 10:30am and 7:30pm, Queensbury Senior Center on Wednesdays at 10:15am and in Warrensburg on Fridays (see
special programs page). 



Course Descriptions
Tai Chi - Yang Style Short Form - This is a 60 movement form was developed by the famous teacher, Cheng Man-Chen and further refined by my teacher, Grandmaster William C.C. Chen. This Tai Chi form has many benefits for health, wellbeing and martial arts practice. 

Beginners Introduction to Tai Chi & Qi Gong - This eight week course is designed to get you started.  In this course you will learn the basic Qi Gong postures, movements and breath work. These techniques have many benefits for health and wellbeing including flexibility, stress reduction and balance. In this course, you will  also begin learning the first movements of the Yang style Tai Chi form. After this course you can continue with the more advanced level courses. 8 weeks begins April 28 -  Cost $96
Tai Chi Beginner level 2 - This class is for those who have previously taken the Beginners Intro Course or any other level Tai Chi course. In this class you will continue learning the form at your own pace. 12 weeks - Cost $168
Tai Chi Intermediate Level
This class is  for those who have learned the first 20 postures of the Tai Chi form and the basic Qi Gong practices.  In this class you will learn more advanced Qi Gong exercises and continue learning the rest of the 60 movement Tai Chi form. 12 weeks - Cost $168
Tai Chi Form Refinement
class is for those who have learned the entire 60 movement sequence. Here we  will develop the internal principles and deeper levels of Tai Chi practice. 12 weeks - Cost $168
The Tai Chi Form Open/Make Up
class is for anyone who wants a little help with learning the form. It is also a class for those who want to attend more than one class per week. Any currently registered student can take this class for $10 per class. This class can also be used as a make up for any classes that you miss

Push Hands and Martial Arts Applications This
class will focus on some of the blocks, strikes and joint locks found within the forms. We will also cover footwork and how to use these techniques in different self defense situations. All techniques will be explained in detail and practiced with a partner. Push Hands is an important part of advanced Tai Chi training. Push Hands is a two person practice that develops rooting and sensitivity. It is an important first step for developing the martial arts application of Tai Chi. It is also a fun practice that will greatly improve your Tai Chi form.  Prerequisite: Form Refinement or by special permission. 11 weeks - Cost $156
 
Taoist Meditation & Seasonal Qi Gong - Learning to quiet the mind and increase awareness are skills that have many benefits for your Tai Chi and Qi Gong practice. Meditation also helps to reduce stress in today’s hectic high speed life. In this class you will learn the fundamental practice of Taoist sitting meditation. Using relaxed breathing you will learn to quiet the distracting aspect of “over thinking”. You will also learn specific Qi Gong  and meditation practices to strengthen the internal organs and gain better overall health. The basis of this class is a seasonal practices that will help harmonize the internal energy with the external seasonal changes. 12 weeks - Cost $168
 
Yang Style Broadsword
The Da Dao or big knife has a rich history in Kung Fu practice. This short form is very dynamic and although it is a Tai Chi form the practice is done at a very lively pace. 8 weeks -  Cost $112

Yang Style Tai Chi Long Form The 132 long move form contains all the movements of the short form with extended sections in addition to several movements that are not in the short form.  12 weeks - Cost $168

Sword Form Refinement
This class is for those who have completed the Yang Style Sword Form course. $15 per class. April 19, May 10 and June 14

Short Course Qi Gong Series
This series will present four different Qi Gong practices in two week courses.  Classes are held on Wednesdays at 6:30pm Each two week course is $30.

Standing Meditation
The most fundamental practice for body, mind and energy development. No other practice will teach you more about structure as well as focusing the mind. The basis of all internal arts April 2. Free to all current students.

Eight Pieces of Brocade
Qi Gong This 900 year old Qi Gong set consists of  eight movements that when practiced  together form a very complete treatment of the fundamental aspects of health from a traditional Qi Gong perspective. These movements involve standing and moving postures and stretches. April 16 & 23

Swimming Dragon
This one movement practice opens all the joints in the spine. Swimming Dragon also massages the internal organs and builds flexibility. April 30 & May 7

Allergy Qi Gong
This practices teaches a breathing technique and movements that help alleviate the symptoms of nasal allergies.  Regular diligent practice can help you breath freely even in allergy season. May 14 & 21

The Marriage of Heaven and Earth
Opening and closing all the joints together has both health benefits and martial applications for power. This practice also increases circulation in the whole body. This practice also increases internal energy flow in the main yin and yang channels of the body.  May 28 -June 4
